and we're back....

i haven't written in a while due to being on holiday.

holiday was good....i climbed mt. kilimanjaro in tanzania (the highest mountain in africa) with my friend from home, laura henson. it was really hard (and kinda miserable haha), but we made it to the summit and got to see a beautiful sunrise come through the clouds with the mountains in the background. pretty surreal. and definitely a personal accomplishment for me to make it to the summit (i'm not so much of the "hiker" type....never really done any hiking in my life actually ha). laura had the pleasure of listening to me complain throughout the summit hike. lucky her. i won't go into detail on the whole trip, but if you want to hear more about it, feel free to email me (mbuckley@grassrootsoccer.org).

i also wanted to report on our end of the year numbers!

* from june-dec, we graduated just shy of 6,000 kids from our grs skillz curriculum
* from june-dec, we tested 8,212 people for hiv

these numbers are awesome for us, and shows that grs zambia is growing and heading in the right direction. pretty exciting!
